Every Big Mission Starts Small
Tridah didn’t begin as an organization, a suite of tools, or a long-term roadmap.
It started with a simple belief:
Digital tools should empower people — not restrict them.
For years, individuals, freelancers, small businesses, and nonprofits have been overwhelmed by subscriptions, paywalls, and “per-seat” pricing that locks functionality behind monthly fees. Tools that should be simple were suddenly out of reach.
The idea that sparked Tridah was born from asking one question:
“Why can’t there be powerful, everyday tools that are free, open-source, and accessible to everyone?”
A Vision Built on Openness
The founder of Tridah, Michael ‘Baomont’ Phelps, imagined a place where anyone could access essential digital tools — without hidden catches, without ads, and without trading their data for features.
Tools that could be:
- Self-hosted, for full control
- Modified, for personal or organizational needs
- Shared, for community impact
- Used online freely, for people without technical skills or resources
The mission was simple but ambitious:
Build tools that serve people, not profits.
Early Experiments & First Prototypes
Tridah began as a passion project — evenings, weekends, late-night brainstorming, and countless prototypes.
The goal wasn’t to compete with big platforms…
It was to reimagine what “free” could actually mean.
The first tool created was the Invoicer.
Why? Because freelancers and small organizations often struggle with invoicing systems that are either overpriced or overloaded with unnecessary features.
From there came:
- Bookkeeper – a simple, transparent way to track income and expenses
- DocBinder – a digital binder system for organized documents
- Tridah Drive – the home where it all came together
What started as one tool evolved into a connected ecosystem.
Becoming a Nonprofit
As the project grew, so did the mission.
It became clear that Tridah wasn’t just a collection of tools — it was a public good.
Turning Tridah into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit was a natural step.
It meant:
- No shareholders
- No profit pressure
- No incentives to lock features behind paywalls
Instead, the focus remained 100% on accessibility, transparency, and community impact.
Today, donations help keep Tridah Drive free online for anyone who needs it.
Powered by Volunteers & Community
Tridah is built by a small but passionate community of contributors — developers, testers, designers, and people who simply believe in making technology accessible.
Every volunteer, every bug report, every suggestion helps shape the direction of Tridah Drive.
Tridah isn’t just a platform.
It’s a movement toward accessible digital infrastructure.
Growing Into the Future
The story of Tridah is only just beginning.
Today, the roadmap includes:
- A complete project management suite
- Enhanced mobile-friendly tools
- A growing community Discord
- More open-source contributions
- Workshops, volunteer programs, and digital literacy outreach
The mission continues to expand — but the foundation remains the same:
Technology should be open.
Technology should be accessible.
Technology should serve people.
A Message from the Founder
“Tridah started with a simple desire to help people — especially those who feel left behind by expensive digital tools.
If even one person or one small organization can run their business, manage their finances, or organize their life more easily because of Tridah, then the mission is worth it.”
— Michael ‘Baomont’ Phelps, Founder of Tridah
